The 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser is a 5-door sport utility vehicle that can accommodate up to eight passengers. Its main rivals are Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, GMC Yukon Denali, Cadillac Escalade and Land Rover LR4. The Toyota’s flagship Land Cruiser had been praised for great off-road performance, impressive towing capacity and being quick, quiet and comfortable, but criticized for poor fuel economy and not so affordable price.
Exterior and Interior
We hope that the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser will get some cosmetic upgrades and lose some of its bulkiness. However, it will be nice if the designers keep features like 18-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights and running lights, foglights, auto-dimming and power-folding heated mirrors, automatic wipers, deep-tinted rear privacy glass, a sunroof, a roof rack, a rear spoiler, running boards, LED taillights and keyless entry and ignition.
The interior features that can remain as well include: quiet and comfortable interior, high-quality upholstery, front power seats with multi-level heating and lumber support, heated second-row seats, updated Entune infotainment system with 9-inch center-mounted touchscreen with Siri Eyes Free technology, Qi wireless charging system.
The maximum cargo space capacity is around 82 cubic feet when the second row is fold down and the third row seats are fold to the sides.
The safety features we can expect on the upcoming model include a rearview camera, anti lock brakes, trailer-sway control, hill-start assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-path warning and a forward collision warning system. In addition, the new car will also get an upgraded Toyota’s Safety Connect system with automatic collision notification, on-demand roadside assistance and a stolen vehicle locator.
The 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser will most likely get a 5.7-liter V8 that pumps out 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque as its predecessor.
It shows excellent off-road performance due to a locking center differential, a five-speed crawl control, Multi-Terrain Select, the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, hill-start assist and Off-Road Turn Assist. These features improve on-road and off-road handling, and adapt the stability and traction control settings to particular road quality.
As standard, the vehicle comes with eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive.
The fuel economy stands at 15 miles per gallon combined (13 city/18 highway).
Properly equipped, the Toyota Land Cruiser can tow up to 8,100 pounds.
