When last redesigning happened in 2017, Highlander underwent few serious changes from the last model, but now is time to see 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid and those great improvements, as in term of design, as well in term of engine type and strength. It got new eight and ten-speed automatic transmission and new V6 engine. However, as we saw on photos, the new Highlander is bigger, futuristic and has impressive and aggressive overlook, with some changes in details. There should be found a new hybrid powertrain, too.
There are no clearly announced how the design and look of the 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid will change in this version, but we are sure that the manufacturer will not go much far from the original shape and design. It is for sure that they will change the front end to be more aggressive and massive, but with recognizable shape and slightly changed lights. That is actually the same shape as on other large models, like the 2020 Toyota RAV4, Toyota 4Runner 2020, Toyota Tundra and Toyota Land Cruiser. The only rear end shows that it is an Toyota SUV, with rounded trunk door where are again modernized lights.
The cabin of 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid is still wide and spacious for eight passengers or seven in lower trims, with larger space for passengers that are on the second and third row. The buyers will be attracted by very modern and futuristic center console with all commands and buttons and large touchscreen above them, framed with always attractive platinum panel and woody details. The cabin in higher trims is made of leather in modern color combinations.
The manufacturer has not announced the changes in the engine of the 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid from the last model, so we expect the same two options this time, too. That means 3.5-liter V6 paired with an electric unit that produces 295 horsepower of strength as the manufacturer used on Toyota Tacoma before and has an output of 228 kWh. It should come with six-speed automatic transmission and optional eight-speed transmission, too. There are chances that this model will be offered as a four-wheel system.
2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Release Date and Price
As we said, the 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid remains the unique and recognizable details in design and engine strength, but those who love futuristic design and models will also be satisfied. There are still a few changes that the manufacturer is planned to offer, so the final version will be prepared for the beginning of the next year. The price should start with $38,000 as before, but be prepared for a slightly higher number with possible additions to the base model.
